Rare
Earths magnets are the most advanced commercialized
permanent magnet materials. Collectively known as Rare
Earths are the Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnets and
Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) magnets. Within each of these classes
of Rare Earth magnets are a number of different grades,
which span a wide range of properties and application
requirements.
NdFeB magnets
are available in sintered as well as bonded forms. The
sintered form usually requires some finishing operations
in order to hold close mechanical tolerances. Rare Earth
magnets are brittle, and machining operations should be
performed prior to magnetization, using diamond tools.

SURFACE
TREATMENT
NdFeB
magnets are highly susceptible to
corrosion. Coatings may be applied depending on the expected
environment. We offer a variety of coating and plating
options to prevent corrosion and mechanical damage.
Sintered NdFeB Magnets
are prone to rust, usually need surface treatment according
to customer's requirements. One or two coating layers
are often needed depending on different working environments.
The coating is with grey or black color. The finished
coating is smooth, free of voids and pinholes. These coated
magnets could survive in the salt fog spray test (5 %
NaCl, 35 ) for 200 to 600 hours. |
